THE STORY: Pete and Tilly are playing the Prince and Cinderella in the Christmas pantomime. Pete is also directing, and he is finding the task daunting. He is stuck with his aggravating kid brother, Cedric, and his sister, Daisy, who is in love with 'Specs', the show's technician. Daisy, who plays the Fairy Godmother, drives everyone crazy with her high-pitched voice and lack of acting ability, and Cedric is doing all he can to boost his two-line part as a page. Then there is Pete's cousin, Bingo, who plays Buttons, but seems more interested in amusing the Ugly Sisters than performing his role. The show is also hampered by Minx, the Manx, who plays the Stepmother's cat and is determined that the mouse chorus won't make it to closing night. However, Pete's biggest worry is the transformation scene, because the pumpkin keeps exploding every time it is supposed to change into a coach. Pete is at his wit's end, but thanks to Max, the Ho Hum Husky, and some enterprising angels, the vagaries of the computer are overcome by the magic of a fairy's wand, and all ends happily. We hope you enjoy this musical retelling of the tale of Cinderella and the story of the little village troupe that managed the 'transformation' to the big time.
